Sherry Exum-Peterson is known for her patience, ability to listen and her keen eye for matching buyers with properties and getting properties sold for her sellers. She has been called a match maker of sorts when it comes to real estate. Sherry is very honest and will give you the facts not just opinions which is so very important when buying and selling real estate. Sherry is very tenacious and giving up is not part of her make up.
Originally from Tampa, Florida, Sherry has been a resident of Durango since 2004. Originally home schooled, her two adult children attended Junior High and Highschool in Durango. They are now grown and living happy and successful lives. Sherry’s husband, Aaron Peterson is also a real estate broker with her at The Wells Group. They work often on projects together and enjoy their ability to offer insight as a team.
Sherry has a background in insurance, banking, retail, food and beverage and more. She is truly a people person and understands how to how to sort through the details to find the facts and deliver a closing with as much ease as possible. She believes in being available to her buyer’s and Seller’s and really does answer the phone when she is not with other clients. Going the extra mile is important to her and being educated with detail and real facts is very important to Sherry and she realizes that it is extremely important to her buyers and sellers.
Being a real estate broker is the absolute best career choice for Sherry. It fits her personality very will and she is a natural at it. More than anything, she really enjoys what she does, and you can tell.
Hiking and mountain biking in this beautiful area is certainly a love of Sherry’s but one of her true passions is gardening (flowers and vegetables). Although Sherry does not actually hunt, she enjoys scouting with her husband for elk and is a supporter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. She frequents the many great restaurants and events that Durango has to offer and is a volunteer in the community. Sherry currently holds a position on the Steering committee for Leadership La Plata.
Sherry is also an animal lover and has pets of her own. Household pets now but has had mules, chickens, goats and more. She was employed here at our local La Plata Humane Society for 4 years and may have adopted you your pet.
