Max Hutcheson is a Colorado native who has been a real estate broker in the Durango area since 2007. Max is a strong presence in the local real estate market, leading sales in new construction, and consistently ranking among the top brokers in the area.
As a Durango High School and Fort Lewis College graduate, Max has strong ties to Durango and extensive area knowledge. Upon completing his degree in Marketing, Max spent six years working in Sales and Management in the heavy equipment business, with a focus on new construction in the Denver area. After six years in the city, Max began studying for his real estate license and planning a career change and relocation with the intention of putting down permanent roots in Durango.
He moved back “home” to Durango in 2007, where he began his real estate career with Coldwell Banker. Max’s early efforts were focused on establishing strong relationships and community knowledge in new developments. He quickly became known as an expert in new construction sales and continues to build that area of his business. In 2013, Max moved brokerage houses to The Wells Group, where he co-founded and became Principal of The Durango Team. Since that time, The Durango Team has grown to include four brokers and three support staff, collectively representing a broad and diverse skill set. The Durango Team is united in its mission to understand each client’s individual needs and provide the highest level of customer service throughout the process of buying and selling real estate.
A Certified Seller Representative Specialist since 2010, Max is also a member of the Durango Area Association of Realtors, Colorado Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, and Rocky Mountain Commercial Brokers. Max has a long record of successfully guiding clients in their commercial and residential real estate acquisitions, sales and leases.
In his time away from the office, Max enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, trail running, camping, fly fishing, and skiing – taking full advantage of the recreation available in the beautiful Southwest Colorado Mountains.
