I started my Real Estate career in 1995 and have been with The Wells Group from the beginning. One of my favorite things is helping people to connect with what they want and need in properties, either in a home already built or in finding the perfect lot on which to build their dream home. I truly enjoy what I do for a living, because it involves working with people and I am very much a people person.
In my career I am committed to continuing education to keep my professional skills sharp. I have the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) designations. I have been on the board of directors for the Durango Area Association of Realtors for eight years and served as director of The Community Service and Public Relations committees.
After growing up in San Diego and starting my family there, I moved to Durango in 1994 to raise my two sons in beautiful Durango. When I exchanged the ocean for the mountains I found water activities on nearby rivers and lakes. I love rafting, canoeing, tubing, and boating with my sons and their families.
Although I sell homes and land county-wide, I have personally experienced living in-town Durango and in the Animas Valley. Rockridge, which is an in-town subdivision that borders public land and the Perin’s Peak Wilderness Area, has hiking and biking trails throughout. I also enjoyed living in the golf community of Dalton Ranch, just 10 miles north of Durango in the valley, and was an active HOA member. Most recently, I decided to downsize like many baby boomer “empty nesters”. I chose Three Springs as a community based on traditional neighborhood design principles and for the active lifestyle which incorporates paved walking/biking paths and community plaza & park that hosts many events like free outdoor movie nights, open air concerts, fun runs and harvest parties. This live/work hub with doctor & dentist offices, state-of-the-art regional hospital, restaurants, 24-hour gym, bank and future plans to build a grocery market and retails stores makes it so convenient. Eventually, my neighborhood will have an elementary school, sports fields and more parks.
I am also very involved in our community. I help set up blood donation drives and even donate a pint myself. I’ve participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life as a team walker and fundraiser. I’ve spearheaded fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy, United Way, Project Merry Christmas, Blue Star Moms for Veterans and many more charitable organizations. I am truly blessed to live in this fabulous town of Durango and enjoy giving my time and energy to help it stay strong.
